Hannah Byrnes began playing the piano at the age of five and shortly thereafter traveled with her family's bluegrass gospel band until the age of twelve. She grew up playing mostly by ear but had the privilege to attend music schools from the age of six until sixteen. Hannah then began teaching music schools, piano and flue while mostly arranging for the pure enjoyment of it. For over eight years, Hannah has appeared in many venues, including churches, weddings, fashion shows, dinner events, and conferences across the U.S States, Australia, Germany, and Moldova.
Hannah decided to further her studies in music by attending Middle Tennessee State University in the fall of 2017 where she studied with many pianists and composers. As a pianist, Hannah studied with soloist Adam Clark and Juilliard graduate Arunesh Nadgir. Other teachers were, jazz pianist Matt Endahl, composers Paul Osterfield and Michael Linton, organist Angela Tipps and salsa band instructor Lalo Davila. Hannah had the privilege to perform in masterclasses for Van Cliburn Competition Gold Medalist John Nakamatsu and Russian pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky, and had has also toured with 4x Grammy-Winning instrumentalist Andy Leftwich.
Hannah currently resides in Carthage, Tennessee and works as a freelance composer, arranger, and touring pianist. Although she performs music in many different genres, Hannah is mostly drawn to jazz, gospel, and bluegrass. She combines her classical training with deep improvisation of jazz and gospel bringing out a smooth unique tone. Hannah spends most of her time recording, collaborating, and publishing music. As a pianist, Hannah draws on many different influences: Dino Kartsonakis, Beegie Adair, Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum and Merrill Moore.
